New Links Added, New Photos Forthcoming

Giselle, my black 7mo old AKC show standard poodle, wants YOU to read up on articles to help your S'poo have a fighting chance against diseases that plague this fabulous breed!
I'm adding a couple of links with permission from Dr. Christine Scruggs, veterinarian and breeder of lovely Tivin Poodles. I find it extremely interesting to read her views as a doctor and a breeder. Many times, I have felt my efforts to convey my very strong breeding philosophies and puppy rearing habits thwarted by the very folks my breeders entrust the lives of my beloved (and their beloved) poodles to. Why can't we all just see eye to eye?

How can a dog food (which I will not name but the vets sell in droves), which is loaded with corn, be good for my dog? (It's NOT)! How can I be doing my dog a service by over-vaccinating (You're NOT!)? How can spaying at 6 mos of age, when my dog is just barely a pup and just skirting the edges of maturity possibly be the right answer (It's NOT!)? These are questions raised daily, and there are many more.
And my least favorite of all: "Where can I get a "designer dog (the SHELTER!)?" UGH!! What a way to sink the heart of a responsible breeder! Tell them you want to pay $3000 for a mutt... sigh...
I love the "Designer Dogs" article...I love the "Bloat" article... I love the "Breeder vs. Veterinarian" article.
Please click here to read some or all of them. Be prepared to have your socks knocked off. Thank you again, Dr. Scruggs, for your friendship and support of education.
